Anja is the newest member of the BLCS team. She loves animals of all kinds and enjoys gardening and therefore has taken on the management of the seed section and the assisting with the chick orders of the store.
“Getting to know the people in the area and exchanging thoughts and experiences with customers on all aspects of animal husbandry as well as producing food from seed to table is making the work at BLCS so very special”, she says.
Chris is very proud to call herself a member of the BLCS team for over 3yrs now! Chris is relatively new to the Cariboo and loving it. She comes with a background in veterinary medicine and growing up on her family’s horse farm. “Working at the BLCS is truly a labour of love and I can feel the positive vibes here everyday. Being new to the Cariboo my work at the BLCS has been a fabulous opportunity to meet so many wonderful folks in my new community and for that I am very grateful!” comments Chris. Currently Chris manages our Green Living/Refillery and Equine sections.
In her down time she enjoys horseback riding, yoga, mediation, knitting and hiking. Chris shares her home with her husband, a dog, a cat and 3 horses!
Steven has been with the store for the longest of all the staff. He is known by the distinctive Aussie rancher’s hat that he wears. Steven manages inventory levels and special orders for the pet food section and handles a lot of the back-end paperwork for the store. He is also the closest thing to being the store’s poultry expert. What does he enjoy about working at the BLCS? The customers and the community itself. Plus, having the opportunity to utilize his 30+ years of retail experience and inventory management to the benefit of the store and its customers.
