Our Team

Wensdej has been a part of the BLCS team since 2023. Raised in the suburbs, she and her family wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and landed in Bouchie Lake. She manages our Livestock Feed orders and Chick orders, as well as keeping the Warehouse organized. She finds the best parts about working at the store is exchanging knowledge with the BLCS Community and working alongside the BLCS Team. When she isn’t at the store you can find her family’s small-footprint farm, Firefly Meadows Farm & Bakery, tending the goats and sheep.

Chris is very proud to call herself a member of the BLCS team for over 3yrs now! Chris is relatively new to the Cariboo and loving it. She comes with a background in veterinary medicine and growing up on her family’s horse farm. “Working at the BLCS is truly a labour of love and I can feel the positive vibes here everyday. Being new to the Cariboo my work at the BLCS has been a fabulous opportunity to meet so many wonderful folks in my new community and for that I am very grateful!” comments Chris. Currently Chris manages our Green Living/Refillery and Equine sections.

In her down time she enjoys horseback riding, yoga, mediation, knitting and hiking. Chris shares her home with her husband, a dog, a cat and 3 horses!

Steven has been with the store for the longest of all the staff.  He is known by the distinctive Aussie rancher’s hat that he wears.  Steven manages inventory levels and special orders for the pet food section and handles a lot of the back-end paperwork for the store.  He is also the closest thing to being the store’s poultry expert.  What does he enjoy about working at the BLCS?  The customers and the community itself.  Plus, having the opportunity to utilize his 30+ years of retail experience and inventory management  to the benefit of the store and its customers.

Vanessa Is the newest member to our team. She is currently managing the BLCS website. She moved to Bouchie Lake from Hope BC in August of 2022. With her Husband and Son, they wanted to farm and be self sustaining. If she's not at the store you can find her puttering around her farm tending to her chickens, dogs, pot belly pig and soon to be goats. As well as a big garden and greenhouse. With all of that she chauffer's her son to and from school and various other activities. She and her husband started Mad Cluckers Farm a local chicken farm and is a local egg consignor of the BLCS.
